The fourth variant of 100 Rufiyaa Banknote has been issued on 17 February 2026 for circulation.
In the announcement, the reasons for a new print of banknotes is the increasing demand for banknotes in the economy and due to worn out banknotes in circulation. It mentions the 100 Rufiyaa was brought on 02 February 2026 and 20 Rufiyaa brought on 15 February 2026 was to be released into circulation on 17 February 2026.
This 20 and 100 Rufiyaa banknote is signed by the current Governor Ahmed Munavvar and is dated 31 July 2025 . 6 Safar 1447
Among these two banknotes, the new currency symbol has been added to the 20 Rufiyaa design for the first time.
These new banknotes will be circulating alongside the current set of 20 and 100 Rufiyaa Banknotes which has signatures of Governor Ali Hashim, Governor Ahmed Naseer and Governor Azima Adam.
